You can also go look for gyroids while you're at it to save yourself some time! Not sure if maybe every island is a specific zodiac sign and can only get that piece, so maybe you need to trade to get the others.You can go on Mystery Island Tours with Kapp'n on his Boat Tours and find the Meteor Shower Island (or Star Fragment Island). Interestingly, the only zodiac fragments I've gotten are Aries Fragments. The only downside is that you probably don't want to move forward a day multiple times, so you should wish on many stars as possible so you only need to go forward once.
I've done this 3 times so far, so pretty sure it works. The next day, your beach should be infested with star fragments. Once you've wished on all the stars in that burst, you can save, then set the time backwards again to the same time (don't need to change the date since it's the same day) and repeat as many times as you want.
Once you know the date and time of a meteor shower, you can time travel to a minute or two right before it happens, then just wait for it to occur. I think Celeste will always show up on the night of a meteor shower, but I'm not totally certain. By the way, you do not need a daily announcement mentioning a meteor shower in order for one to happen. The only requirement is that you must know the system date and time of a meteor shower that already occurred. I was pretty frustrated with getting shooting stars, but I think I found a way to reliably farm them.
